Although it has been a long time, I still do think about Harand Camp each summer, and Jill Schinberg and I haven't lost the habit of citing musical songs. She is finishing her MFA in dance as I type, and I'm wrapping up my first year as tenure-track faculty in the English department at the University of Tennessee. Though WI is a long way from Knoxville, I'll keep an eye out for past--and future--campers!

A distance from your family. Yet a sense of belonging with friends from far away. Only once a year, with experiences for a lifetime. Longing for their presence. Wishing they were here. True friends that you can count on, and people that you love. A place where you can be yourself and not care what others think. Act your hearts content out, Sing your soul out to the world. A place where you're accepted, A place that you never want to leave. No man is an island, No man stands alone. These are the words I turn to when feeling homesick For that is what Harand is.
It is my home.

I just finished the Greek Play at my school and that was so hard! I also had to be in an orchestra consert. Well I really have nothing else to say, but I miss everyone and I will see you soon!!

Hey there. I was the french girl at camp back in 2000. It is probably too long ago for any of you to have met me. Just came accross this guestbook as I am putting off studying for my finals so I thought I'd still put a small contribution. I study International Politics in London now, far from the Harand universe. My one experience there was, however, amazing. Not only did I have a fantastic time, I also learned a lot about myself, and developed qualitiesm that proved valuable to me everyday, even in my studies. I lost touch with everyone the minute I got home as I lost the contact sheet we had, sorry about that, but I would be very happy to get back in touch. Love from the UK

Wow..my sister found this website. I'm so happy to hear Harand is still up and running. I was a camper and a thorn in Sulie and Pearl's side for a long time..I think 1971 through 1976, from ages 11 thu 16. I honestly can say I grew up at Harand. I learned more than just theatre, dance and how to sneak out from my cabin at night without the counsellors knowing. I learned about friendships, trust, gained self confidence and memories that still seem like yesterday to me. I now have daughters in the age range I was when I attended Harand and it's so hard to believe so much time has gone by. I live in New Mexico,so it's not a viable option for my kids to attend Harand, but if we were closer, I would seriously consider it. Thanks for all your patience Janice, and Judy. But I'm still mad at you both for making me do the Staff Dining Table duty that year I got caught making out with (shall remain anonymous) in Green Pastures :D Email me!

Hi there... Now I know there are very few people that still sign this guestbook that know who I am (I went to Harand from 1996-2001) but I know there are a lot of people that still come back and read it... Like myself on occasion. I am on a quest... It started- out of boredom- and has escalated into something quite interesting. Out of pure nostalgia a few friends Colin Gilford, Zach Davis, along with a few other contributors, and I started a list of Haranders we had lost contact with or hadn't seen since camp. We are wondering what has happened to these kids and may or may not want to get in contact with them. I have lost the original copy of my list and thus my search has gotten harder! I have managed to cross a few people off by finding them, heck Colin was the first person on my original list, and have accidentally come across a few fun people in the process. So to reiterate... It's been fun... and I need your help! I feel like a horrible person for not keeping in touch with all my friends blah blah blah so will you help me? : ) If you know me... E- mail or IM me! I will come on and post a few names from time to time as the list grows. Here are 3 for starters!
Jerome Hayden
Edgar Lincoln
Rand (apparently he doesn't need a last name)
So yes please help the cause!... Um... Power to the people... and now I'm off!
P.S. CONGRATS TO STEVE STEIN! So happy for you!
P.S.S I still live in Southern California so if anyone has moved here lemme know.
